Quartzel yarn and textile substrates are used in multiple forms as components in a range of applications where barriers to stop fire are required.
Some common applications include: thermal and fire-stop walls isolating hot combustion area on aircraft; forest fire protective shelters; and cable and wire insulation. Quartzel products used in these applications include Q18 PTFE coated yarns used for sewing fire-stop barriers; non-woven Felt and the heavier Needle Punch Felt (NPF) options for layers in fire isolation walls; and textile yarns used for over-braiding cables and wires around hot and potential fire areas where electrical connections are required.
