Optimization of IR heating systems in PET blowing
Plastic bottle are generally made out of PET polymer that can be easily deformed by exposition to temperatures close to their glass transition temperature. The manufacturing of such bottles is done by blowing of a plastic preform under heat against a bottle shaped mold.
The heating system of these manufacturing lines is composed of infrared lamps emitting heat in all directions that are guided towards the plastic preform thanks to a reflector.
